Soccer Community Partnerships of America™
("SCPA") is a non-stock Virginia corporation operating as a non-profit public charity. The principle purpose of our operations is to foster national amateur sports competition in the sport of youth soccer. We seek to create partnerships between existing soccer organizations and local community groups in order to bring the sport of soccer – and its emphasis on teamwork, tolerance, and discipline – to children most in need of positive life alternatives.
SCPA, as a public charity, does not involve itself in commercial activities, nor does it seek to influence the commercial choices of its members or the public, generally. In furtherance of its position, SCPA provides the following statement:
SCPA does not promote the commercial offerings of any entity depicted or linked via its web site, including entities which are members of or sponsors of SCPA. SCPA does not seek to discourage Members from dealing with non-sponsoring entities. All SCPA sponsorships, however, require acknowledgement in writing of our "Standards Statement," including matters regarding competition, non-discrimination, and avoidance of conflicts of interest. Failure of any sponsor to adhere to these principles is cause for terminating the sponsorship, ensuring that those who sponsor SCPA's efforts fully share in the goals and values of our community partnership program.
SCPA does not receive, directly or indirectly, any financial benefit from any transaction between an SCPA Member and any other entity, including a member or sponsor. We do not get a percentage of sales, a "finder's fee," or any other compensation based in any way on dealings between Members and such entities.
SCPA is not a middle man or otherwise a party to any transaction(s) which may occur between its Members and any other entities. As set out in our "
Internet Web Site Use Agreement
," SCPA makes no representations or warranties and assumes no responsibility or liability with respect to any Member-sponsor or other dealings. Each Member has the freedom and the responsibility for making its own economic and contractual decisions.
In taking this approach to sponsorship, SCPA seeks to conform its conduct to the requirements of law and sound ethics, and to maximize the range and quantity of benefits available to its Members.
